OMEN
Omen is a web interactive game combining installation & projection, animation and moving image. It was created in 2020 and discusses about cyber identity and mirror effect developed in this context with biological metaphor. In the project the persona of a internet influencer / streamer was created for a fish, and an installation with projection was built based on a fish tank as the background of its live performance, using abstract visual language to imply the fluidity of its cyber identity and the subtle relationship between changes in its life state and its “audiences” ’ public opinion.
The anonymity and blurring of role-play boundaries in social network space have gradually developed into a philosophical issue. The voice of virtual identity, the mutual manipulation of digital economic capital and audiences is more unstable as well as complicated than traditional markets, individual identity becomes a projection of group consciousness with the fate of being digital and commoditized , while the path of exploring subject ego and self hood is more likely to fall into a whirlpool.
